INTRODUCTION

Recall Objectives: Each first year medical student is expected to be able to:

1. List the six basic concepts regarding protein biosynthesis in both eukaryotes and prokaryotes
2. Recognize the nomenclature of and differences between eukaryotic and prokaryotic ribosomes
3. Define the general structural organization of an eukaryotic mRNA
4. Define the general structure and the functional sites of tRNA
5. Describe the six basic features of the genetic code
