Fire Sprinkler System Installation in Medical School
As part of an institution wide effort, and supported by LEER funding from UT System, Facilities Management completed installation of fire sprinklers to provide 100% coverage for the entire Medical School building on the Lozaon Long Campus. Work on the project began in December of 2013.
Fire sprinklers are an important fire and life safety feature and are designed to be locally heat-activated. Each sprinkler head acts independently to ensure that only areas which require fire suppression are impacted by an activation. When coupled with a modern fire alarm system, fire sprinklers help save lives and minimize property damage in the event of a fire.
Jeffery Rackley, Senior Work Control Coordinator, oversaw operations during the project.
Richard Perez was the Construction Project Manager assigned to this project.
