Medical and Dental Building Lab Renovation
UTHSCSA is pleased to announce construction is currently underway for its campus wide research lab renovation projects, multiple departments will benefit significantly from this current wave of PUF funded projects. Over the next 6 months, FM will be renovating labs for Dr. Clarke, Department of Pharmacology, Dr. Chun, Department of Periodontics, Dr. Casali, Department of Microbiology, Dr. Nicholson, Biochemistry Department and Dr. Hargreaves, Department of Endodontics. These projects are scheduled to be completed by the end of fall 2016. The final Wave of PUF funded Laboratory projects will start in the late fall of 2016.
These renovations create shared core facilities such as freezer rooms or completely renovate labs space by abandoning the standard compartmentalized lab layout approach for a modern open concept style that inspires students and faculty to easily collaborate, and assemble swiftly into groups as necessary in a research laboratory. These labs will be fitted with the latest lab equipment and tools, providing students and faculty the most comprehensive research laboratories in the region. Entirely new highly efficient HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, and Med Gas systems will be installed to meet the demands of each department and research teams. UTHSCSA looks forward to providing the required resources to successfully deliver these projects.
