Renovation of the Nursing School Courtyard

Despite affording students, staff and faculty convenient, shaded lunch-time seating over the years, the courtyard between the Texas Star Cafe and the Nursing School is showing its age. Cracks in the foundation and walls have made the courtyard unsafe. On March 30th, Facilities Management started the renovation by clearing out the tables and chairs, uprooting old vegetation, trimming trees, relocating existing and installing electrical plugs, and making repairs to the irrigation system.

Enhancements to the improved courtyard will include a solar-powered lighting system, new tables and chairs, a ramp for wheelchair access, and an improved eco-friendly irrigation system. The project was completed on July 27th.
