TxMOUD expands portfolio of services in FY 2022

Texas Medication for Opioid Disorder (TxMOUD) at UT Health San Antonio was awarded $43.6 million in Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) funding, a 56% increase from FY 2021, to expand access to treatment and recovery support for Texans in need of substance use disorder and mental health treatment services. Approximately $15 million will provide 24/7 crisis intervention services for people with non-serious mental illness or substance use disorders and people with co-occurring mental and substance use disorders—particularly those impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, a critical lifeline to communities across the state. These resources will help increase and improve access to high quality, evidence-based care and enhance opportunities for recovery from mental health and substance use. TxMOUD is excited to partner with HHSC to build local capacity and provide effective outreach, treatment and recovery services.
